Tunanui is off the beaten track and well away from the city. To make the most of the experience, it is best to stay here several days if you can. ''Two days planned - stayed three weeks. So hard to leave'', one guest wrote in the guest book. Ray and Leslie own and run a 5000-acre, hill-country farm, which carries cattle, sheep and goats. The hundred-year-old cottage has been refurbished in an authentic country style. It's very cute and cosy, with three separate bedrooms and a living area of reasonable size. Leslie's flair for decorating along with polished floors, a stylish bathroom with double shower, a laundry and an open fire combine to make the cottage a comfortable sanctuary for a couple, a family or a small group of friends. It is a few minutes drive away from the homestead and surrounded by trees so guests' privacy is assured. The other accommodation available is The Farmhouse. This is set in its own private garden from where there is an excellent view over farmland, Mahia Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. It is a modern home with four bedrooms to suit a group of people travelling together. Both cottages are well appointed and ideal for guests wanting to stay a few days and provide a unique opportunity for guests to stay on an authentic working farm.
