Havelock North in the heart of Hawkes Bay is perfectly located to enjoy all that this area is renowned for, wine, fruit orchards, art and cultural experiences and endless days in the sun.

Our choice to stay at Arapata Lodge to really get to know this area proved to be a popular decision.  Entering through traditional wooden gates and up the drive lined with mature trees, we passed the magnificent original homestead to the lodge set in its own garden at the back. We are shown through this glorious 3 bedroom self contained home by our host Ben whose family have owned this station for many years.

The location is instantly therapeutic. Throw open the French doors from the lounge to the deck and you are surrounded by birdsong and swaying trees beyond the sweeping lawn. The elegant lounge and kitchen with fireplace is just so inviting. The furnishings as with all the rooms are modern and oh so chic! The dining table which seats up to 12 was the scene of many memorable meals and discussions on the finer points of local wines we had gathered on our tours of the vineyards. Everything you could wish for in entertainment is at your fingertips.

Outside there is a pentaque course, the use of a pool and the most relaxing of gazebo's endowed with shade-making grapevines, reminiscent of a Provencal chalet. An additional loft is available for extra visitors if required. Whether it is a weekend or a whole summer this classy home is a stunning haven.
